    HL2 Deathmatch with Zombies

    Phew - testing over for tonight.  We must be one of the first to get zombies working in a team deathmatch map surely?
    Mixed comments tonight!  Some good, some bad!

    They're Alive...and dead!

    Tim's just sent me the latest map, great first impressions.  The whole thing has a sinister red glow to it and the skybox looks great!  I'm gonna go and find some zombies...
    OMG! they're everywhere - I just got chased out of the 'barn' by an evil fast zombie & took some damage too!
     
    Heeeelp!  They're after me in the factory!  I've had to hide up the ladder!  They seem to know where I am?
     
    Wow - that is gonna make deathmatch a bit different!  Can't wait to play MP!

    Been too busy...

    ...to do anything since the last build until tonight. 
    - Reworked the cliffs behind the tunnel
    - removed the skybox factory
    - removed all but one light environment (plus the one in the skybox)
    - made the lighting...erm...well...lighter (for Tim)
    - added some trees to the skybox
    - reshaped the skybox
    - rebuilt to test
    - what do you think?
     
    BTW Tim has got some seriously annoying zombies to add in...hopefully this weekend?  i can't wait!
     
    I'll post the pictures when the build finishes...yawn!
     
    Doh! back to whiteout again coz of the fog!  Must be to do with the distance!  Over to you Tim :-)

    Lighting Success

    99% happy with the Skybox lighting now - gonna hand map back to Tim for more work.  Bet he thinks it's too dark!  I've included an early shot too for comparison!

    Not for weak constitutions!

    Yuk!  I'm feeling really rough tonight - and have completely gone off sausages!
    Found what can only be described as a set of pigs EYELASHES in my lunchtime egg & sausage roll  I nearly chucked!
     
    Anyway - more skybox stuff  -I'm off to bed.
     
    It's looking much better now.  Tim's working on the zombies - how can we get them angry?

    Still foggy...

    Skyboxing

    Got rid of the giant grass
    Got everything at about the right height
    Removed env_fog_controller from inside factory cos it was foggy in the map but not the skybox!
     
    Going to hunt for another fog controller or setting 'cos the map is fogy but the skybox isn't!

    Enough of that rubbish!

    Long time, no map!
    Been a bit lazy lately so thought I'd try a bit more Hammer!
    The Zombie Factory needs a 3d skybox.  I haven't done very much 3d skyboxing so...as you can see - I think the first attempt was only a partial success
     
    I think my 2 main problems were:
    1> The scale of the textures (That grass looks a bit...erm...GIGANTIC! Argh! )
    2> The sky_Camera Entity (I reckon it kind of got put in at the wrong height! )
    3> The skybox factory looks a little large too!
    5> I can't count!
     
    Anyway Tim - check out this disaterpiece hahahahahah...etc

    No mapping done for a while now...so many other things to do.  Will get started again soon.  Maybe this weekend?
